Race Day

  • Non-mandatory coaches/coxswains/competitors meeting at the Flag Pole (in front of the regatta/VASRA HQ) at 7:00 AM on Sunday.
  • The park rules and regulation as well as directions can be found here: http://www.nvrpa.org/park/sandy_run/
  • The important rules - no fires / cooking, no pets and no alcohol.
  • Parking - https://www.row4obc.org/oms/parking
  • Bow numbers - bring them if you have some (there will be some to borrow if needed)
  • Best place to watch the races: Grandstand (obviously all action will be there...) - A shuttle van will run from Parking Lot C between 7:45 -end of the regatta. There's a $3 charge one way trip (both ways: $6) We need all the money we can get for the scholarship, THANK YOU! If you prefer to walk, please use the TRAIL, and give yourself time to walk the trail (about 1 mile). Please do not walk on the shuttle road.
  • Hot docking at the finish line (30 min or less between events) or at the main dock (more than 30 min). If at the finish line, be sure the athletes know to be there.

  • Please either bring your own reusable bottle, and enjoy the well water at the park, or come to the volunteers desk and get on reusable bottle compliments of Fairfax Water. Free ice, compliments of OBC.
  • Soft drinks ($2) and keep in mind the profit goes to the scholarship.
